The Vindabona Bore Re-Born!

The new Bach 190L65GV is the long-awaited successor to the classic Bach Vindabona trumpet models in a Large Bore. Bach has worked with top artists to improve on Bach’s original design concepts of the Vindabona step bore design to create something truly special.

A revised #43 reverse leadpipe paired with a Large LV Vindabona bore that grows from .459″ bore to a .462″ bore, helps to balance the large 5″, #65 Gold Brass bell. This trumpet provides the player with the ultimate breadth and richness of sound while maintaining the classic Bach quality.

Vindabona Concept
Vincent Bach’s original idea of pairing the bore and bell size of a German rotary trumpet with the valve block of a French instrument gave birth to a uniquely American trumpet sound known for exceptionally balanced response, tonal core and intonation.

Large Vindabona Bore & Leadpipe
The Large Vindabona bore takes the horn from medium-large bore to large bore in the same style as the MLV, for players looking for an even bigger sound than the MLV but still desiring efficiency. The redesigned #43 leadpipe gives the horn a free-blowing and easy feel, especially when combined with the newly designed LV tuning slide. The brilliance of the #43 leadpipe perfectly balances the large bell. This instrument is the ideal choice for the player looking for the ultimate, rich, dark sound that can still project.

Large Vindabona Bore & Leadpipe
The standard weight, side-seam 5″ #65G bell with a round brass wire bell is heavier than normal for the 190 series. The additional weight provides the player with an even richer core to their sound and the freedom to push their instrument without fear of the sound getting crass. The #65 bell flare is Bach’s largest bell design and provides the player with unparalleled breadth and warmth. The choice of gold brass makes the sound even richer and more mellow at soft dynamics while still allowing the player to get bright at loud dynamics. The wide bracing is balanced with the addition of the first slide brace to help with focus and projection.

Kessler’s Bach Screening Process
Bach trumpets are made by hand. Even with the improved manufacturing techniques that Bach returned to, this inevitably will create some variance. So with every Bach 190L65GV that comes in our shop, Dave Kessler personally inspects every single one.

He checks for structural defects, cosmetic defects and assembly defects. The vibration of the instrument to ensure that the trumpet is a responsive horn. If a Bach 190L65GV is assembled poorly, this results in unnecessary stress in the solder joints that actually hinder vibration and in turn, negatively affects the performance of the Bach 190 trumpet.

The most important test of the trumpet for Dave is the vibration test. If a horn doesn’t vibrate well itself (outside of even playing the horn), then it will not be a great playing trumpet.

If a Bach 190 fails ANY of our tests is sent back to Bach, period.

This is why we give you a trial period. When you get a new Bach 190L65GV from Kessler & Sons Music, it is accompanied by a 3 day evaluation period. Once you receive it, you have 3 days to test the trumpet yourself. If for ANY reason you are not 100% satisfied with it, you simply let us know and you send it back for a refund or exchange, your choice.
