Bach 190M37X Stradivarius Trumpet
“Medium Plus” Bore
The new Bach 190M37X is one of the more versatile models that Bach has ever made. Featuring a new “Medium Plus” bore at .456″, players will find an agile, quick responding trumpet with exceptional range while still producing a traditional “Bach” sounding horn.
The lightweight nickel inner slides and nickel balusters keep the sound from breaking up, even at extreme dynamics and a true French bead bell offers unparalleled projection. It also has some of the most iconic features from Bach’s best vintage instruments, including Mount Vernon-style bell construction, New York-style cast nickel Z braces, and adding a modern and consistently precise leadpipe.
Bach’s Research & Development team examined the most famous horns in Bach’s history to identify the optimal weight, construction, material, and assembly of Bach’s valve cluster. As a result of these efforts, they have produced a newly designed valve cluster delivering a faster response and a more vibrant sound.
“Every Bach 190M37X Trumpet is completely inspected and tested in our Bach ProShop to guarantee it’s quality. Any Bach that does not meet our standards is sent back to the factory.”
Dave Kessler
Additional Information
Body Design
The 190M37X is built on a new “Medium Plus” .456″ two-piece valve chassis with nickel balusters, lightweight nickel inner slides, brass outer slides, and brass valve guides. The new .456″ bore size blends the efficiency of a medium bore with the breadth of a medium-large bore.
Bell Design
The Mt. Vernon weight, side seam #37 bell in yellow brass features a true French bead, made with techniques and materials not used since the 1950s. The French bead provides exceptional projection that throws as much of the sound forward to the audience as possible. The narrow wrap nickel Z braces and brass 1st slide brace make this our most efficient and quickest responding trumpet. The lightweight nickel inner slides combine with the Mt. Vernon weight, French bead bell to create a brilliant and electric sound.
The trumpet is designed to achieve the efficiency and brilliance of a lightweight, medium bore trumpet without sacrificing the rich core of a standard-weight horn. The 190M37X is loved by commercial and classical players alike.
Kessler’s Bach Screening Process
Bach trumpets are made by hand. Even with the improved manufacturing techniques that Bach returned to, this inevitably will create some variance. So with every Bach 190M37X that comes in our shop, Dave Kessler personally inspects every single one.
He checks for structural defects, cosmetic defects and assembly defects. The vibration of the instrument to ensure that the trumpet is a responsive horn. If a Bach 190M37X is assembled poorly, this results in unnecessary stress in the solder joints that actually hinder vibration and in turn, negatively affects the performance of the Bach trumpet.
The most important test of the trumpet for Dave is the vibration test. If a horn doesn’t vibrate well itself (outside of even playing the horn), then it will not be a great playing trumpet.
If a Bach 190M37X fails ANY of our tests is sent back to Bach, period.
