The Yamaha 62 bari sax has garnered the admiration and respect of a wide range of saxophonists for over 35 years. The new 2nd Generation Yamaha YBS-62 bari sax builds on this trusted platform with improvements to ergonomics, response & intonation. This new model keeps the outstanding playability and quality that artists have come to expect while innovating for the next generation and beyond!

“Yamaha B Stock” Model – What does that mean?
This saxophone was bought by us directly from Yamaha as a “B Stock” model. This means that it was used in some manner by Yamaha and was “re-boxed” by Yamaha and sold to us at a “B Stock” discount that we then get to pass on to you! B Stock models will have very minor signs of previous use or issues. In the case of a heavy issue, Yamaha will designate as “C Stock”. We always keep our eyes out for B Stock models as this extra savings is great for our customers and the issue forcing the instrument to be labelled as a B Stock are usually minor.

2nd Generation 62 Bari Features

New Bell Design
The YBS-62II uses a slightly shorter bell to help improve response and intonation in all registers. The entire range of the instrument is improved by the slight decrease in weight and especially helps to center the notes in the lower range of the bari.

Updated Ergonomics
The new model features a key layout derived from the new Custom series bari sax. This improved ergonomic helps players of all levels feel more comfortable through the range of the bari.

Detachable Peg Option
The YBS-62II has integrated a floor peg receiver in to the bow of the bari sax. While the floor peg is not included (available as an accessory), adding this option for customers has been one of the most requested features on the new bari sax line. Customers who want the assistance of the floor peg can screw it in to the new receiver easily to help support the weight of the instrument.

Wheeled Case
The YBS-62II has added integrated wheels in to the classic Yamaha 62 case allowing for easier transportation of the instrument.
