Size Options
The Yamaha 4C Clarinet mouthpiece is actually called the “Standard Series” mouthpieces, but they are commonly referred to as a “4C Mouthpiece” by teachers because it is the size that they most commonly use on this model. The Standard Series mouthpiece for clarinet is actually available in the following sizes:

• 3C – 1.00mm Tip
• 4C – 1.05mm Tip *Most Popular*
• 5C – 1.10mm Tip
• 6C – 1.20mm Tip

The Yamaha Standard Series mouthpieces are made out of high-quality phenol resin (plastic) and feature a design based upon the top grade Custom Series. They are extremely consistent in specifications and playing quality, and offer excellent value for their price. The facing of this series is slightly shorter than that of the Custom Series making them easier to play, and easier for beginning students to achieve a rich characteristic clarinet sound.

Don’t Forget About the Ligature!

The ligature also has a huge impact on a player’s performance. The way that the ligature holds the reed directly changes the way that the reed vibrates. Many ligatures on the market actually will hinder the performance of a reed as well as even warp reeds. For performance and value, we recommend the D’Addario H-Ligature with the Yamaha 4C Clarinet Mouthpiece. These ligatures usually cost about as much as a student mouthpiece. However, we offer a special “bundle” making it only a $15.00 “upgrade” to add on a D’Addario H-Ligature when purchased with the Yamaha 4C Clarinet mouthpiece!

Trial & Return Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on the Yamaha 4C Clarinet Mouthpieces. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).

When we ship the mouthpiece, we install a blue protective film over the logo to help protect the logo from irreparable scratches while it is being tested. We also install a tooth patch before shipping. This way you can test the mouthpiece with less fear of damage. However, you can still damage the mouthpiece even with these protections, so make sure to handle it carefully while you are testing it. We recommend leaving these items on the mouthpiece during the testing phase and only to remove them after you have made the decision to keep the mouthpiece. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
