Buffet B12 Clarinet Replacement Model
In 2016, Buffet discontinued the B12 student clarinet. This model has been replaced by 2 new Buffet Student Clarinet models: “Buffet Prodige” & “Buffet Premium”. The Buffet Prodige is not available for on-line sales but is limited to only “brick & mortar” stores (which we are), but the Buffet Premium will be available for on-line sales.

About the new Models
The 2 new models offer a new bore based on the renowned E13 model and is designed for a better playing student clarinet. The new body bores are made from ABS that is molded in France by Buffet. These bodies are then sent to Buffet’s facility in Germany (where the B12 was made and the E11 & E12F are made) where all of the toneholes and post holes are cut. Final assembly and padding is performed in Buffet’s new state of the art facility in Asia. They built this facility specifically for the new models and this process is NOT being outsourced to a generic facility that makes other clarinets. The difference between the 2 new models is as follows:

• Buffet Prodige – Nickel Plated Keys, white leather pads, plastic case – Not Available for On-Line Sales
• Buffet Premium – Silver Plated Keys, traditional double bladder pads, backpack case – Available for On-Line Sales, Click Here.
