Left Hand Eb/Ab Lever
The Backun Protege clarinet is also available with the alternate left hand Eb/Ab lever!
We love this mechanism. It simply gives you the player more technical performance options by having the extra Eb/Ab lever available for both the right and left hand pinky. Backun was also very smart in their design of this key as the actual left hand lever can be removed by the player with only a small, basic flathead screwdriver. This way they player can remove the key if they find that they don’t like it and later reinstall it should they change their mind.
The Backun Protege clarinet is one of the most affordable clarinets to offer this key option.
Key Plating Options
The Backun Protege clarinet is available in either silver plated (standard) or gold plated keys.
Every Backun Protege clarinet we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. Sometimes, a clarinet (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours!
