Buffet is the leading maker in the clarinet market. Their student clarinets are the most commonly played and requested student model in history. Their long running student model, the Buffet B12 was discontinued in 2016 and was replaced by a completely new bore concept. Based around the semi-professional E13 design, the new models feature a great improvement in tone, response and playability. The 2 new Buffet Student Clarinet models (Buffet Prodige & Buffet Premium), while the same in acoustic design, differ in the configuration. For a brief summary, the differences between the 2 new models is as follows:

- Buffet Premium – Silver Plated Keys, traditional double bladder pads, backpack case
Lightly Used
The Buffet Prodige model has been the preferred setup with our local teachers, which is why we use it as our “new clarinet rental” here in Las Vegas. As a result though, we will occasionally have a few come back from rental after just a very short time. These lightly used models are usually put back in to our rental fleet, but when we have one returned that is in perfect condition, we make it available for purchase to customers. That is the case here, with this instrument being having been rented for only a few months but was kept in perfect condition! We completely clean and service the instrument, as well as put in a brand new mouthpiece & ligature setup so that you have a great value!
About the Prodige
The Buffet Prodige replaced the popular Buffet B12 model in 2016. The Buffet Prodige is a major upgrade with a new bore based on the renowned E13 semi-professional model giving student musicians an affordable, high performance clarinet! The clarinet bodies are made from ABS that is molded in France by Buffet. These bodies are then sent to Buffet’s facility in Germany (where the B12 was made and the E12F is made) where all of the toneholes and post holes are cut. Final assembly and padding is performed in Buffet’s new state of the art facility in Asia. They built this facility specifically for the new models and this process is NOT being outsourced to a generic facility that makes other clarinets.
Professional Setup
Every clarinet we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on the clarinet is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, a clarinet (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours!
