Natural Turkey Feather
Perfect for Bore Oiling

Proper maintenance of your premium instrument is a must! With wood instruments such as clarinets, oboes & piccolos, having the right tools to oil the bore of your instrument is crucial in preventing cracks and serious damage to the precious bore of your instrument! Along with a premium oil (such as our Kessler Natural Almond Oil), you need a proper applicator to avoid destroying the pads of your instrument from over-oiling. For this, repairs shops and artists trust a simple item: the turkey feather. Most use a simple white turkey feather to ensure an even and delicate application of oil to their premium instrument. However, have you ever seen a white turkey?? For the most discerning players, only an all natural approach to maintaining their instrument will do. So instead, they opt for an all natural turkey feather.

White feathers are bleached & washed to get rid of the color of “ugly” feathers. There are far fewer “pretty” feathers on a turkey to provide the more desired all natural turkey feather. So as a result, these feathers cost more, but hey, your instrument is worth it isn’t it?!

Most repair shops (& some artists) though buy big bulk bags of feathers whereas you just need 1 on average for a whole year. Well, we are here to help! We purchase bulk supplies of natural turkey feathers so that you can have the right tools to take care of your instrument!
