Used Loree Rosewood Oboe
AK Bore – Made in 1993

No name is more synonymous with professional oboes than Loree. They have been and continue to be, the gold standard for oboe performance and quality. However, with this prestige also comes a price that for many, leads them to look for excellent condition used oboes. Here, we have such an oboe: a Used Loree Rosewood Oboe in excellent condition, fully serviced and ready to provide you with an instrument that will amaze you. This oboe has also had the Philadelphia High D adjustment arm added to it at some point in its life to help bring High D down to proper pitch (as it is normally high on many Loree oboes).

Rosewood vs. Grenadilla
Oboes generally tend to be made from Grenadilla. However, some of the more exotic woods like Rosewood and Cocobolo offer players a different tonal performance option. Loree has chosen Rosewood as their “exotic wood” of choice for this particular oboe. Rosewood will lend itself to a broader, sweeter tone than Grenadilla would on the same instrument.

KRxx Serial
This used Loree Rosewood oboe is a KRxx series serial number. This places its manufacture date around early 1993. It has never been cracked and has been cared for very well by the previous owner (who bought it used in 2005).

AK Bore
This used Loree Rosewood oboe is the AK bore model. It is a full conservatory, semi-automatic octave mechanism.

Trial & Return Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on in stock instruments. Once you receive it, you have 3 days to play it and evaluate the oboe to make sure that it is the right instrument for you. If you decide that it isn’t, simply notify us within 3 days of your intent to return (phone call is preferable but an email would suffice) and then you send it back for a refund (or exchange if you choose).

There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the oboe is returned in proper condition and within the terms of our policy).
