Kessler Custom Intermediate F-Rotor Trombone
.547″ Large Bore | Open Wrap | 8.5″ Gold Brass Bell
Kessler Custom instruments are designed with a singular goal: provide customers with affordable, quality instruments. We achieve this by working directly with factories to manufacture instruments to our specifications and thus eliminate the various middle men involved with the music industry. We then sell direct to the end consumer offering a superior performance level compared to the price. Such is the case with our Artist Series Intermediate F-Rotor Trombone; a performance level intermediate trombone at a student trombone price!
Goldbrass Bell
This version of our Intermediate F-Rotor is setup with a Gold brass Bell for a warmer tone. This is done by increasing the amount of copper used in the brass alloy. This slightly changes the hue of the metal with a more “gold” color, hence the name “gold brass”. The extra copper is slightly heavier in the alloy which helps create the warmer tone.
We also offer this same model in a traditional Yellow Brass bell for a slightly crisper tone with a little quicker response. Click here to view the Yellow Brass Bell Model.
Soldered Bead Bell
The soldered bead creates better vibration on the bell. Trombone bells will have their metal rolled over a steel wire at the end of the bell. This is referred to as the bell “bead”. The steel wire in the bead is largely there for protection in the case of damage to the bell, making it easier to repair. However, with most intermediate f-rotor trombone models, the steel wire is simply held in place by the bead itself. This can create negative vibration to the bell, hindering tone performance and overall response.
With our Artist Series F-Rotor Trombone, we go the next step and make sure that the bead is soldered. This soldering effectively makes the brass and the steel wire in the bead vibrate as 1 piece of metal. This improves response and tonal resonance in the horn. This is a feature is typically found on professional level instruments.
Open Wrap with Off-Set Rotor
The open wrap design allows the resonance and blow of the F section of the horn to feel more balanced to the standard Bb side of the horn. Combined with an off-set rotor system that allows for less resistance, our K.Custom Intermediate F-Rotor Trombone gives exceptionally balanced feel and performance through both the Bb and F sides of the horn!
