These developments offer the musician a full sound, rich in depth and color, especially in the upper register of the clarinet. The Black Diamond series is now expanding even further with the new Black Diamond HD High Density clarinet mouthpieces!

These new HD models feature a heavier, higher density rubber producing a richer tone and quicker response with easier projection. How much heavier are they? About 50%!! This is really impressive – without changing the physical design & dimensions of the mouthpiece, the high density rubber is 50% heavier than standard. Don’t believe us? Take a look below:
The Black Diamond HD mouthpieces are currently only available in 3 Facings in 2 Pitch Options:

- HD BD5 13 Series – 1.13 mm tip with Medium Long Facing, A440 – CM1405HD
- HD BD4 – 1.155 mm tip with Medium Facing, A442 – CM1004HD
- HD BD4 13 Series – 1.155 mm tip with Medium Facing, A440 – CM1404HD
- HD BD6 – 1.215 mm tip with Medium Facing, A442 – CM1006HD
- HD BD6 13 Series – 1.215 mm tip with a Medium Facing, A440 – CM1406HD
Will the other facings come out in the HD Series?
We don’t have a definitive answer on this, but we anticipate that at least the BD2 facing will eventually make it in to the HD lineup.

Trial & Return Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on the Vandoren Black Diamond Clarinet Mouthpieces. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).
In order to protect the mouthpiece against scratches & marks when testing, we install a tooth patch before shipping. You are responsible for the condition of the mouthpiece while you are testing it. We highly recommend testing with a fabric style ligature to reduce the risk of scratching. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
