Vandoren is known worldwide for the performance, quality and value of their clarinet mouthpieces. The new Vandoren Black Diamond Clarinet Mouthpieces features a new internal and external design. These developments offer the musician a full sound, rich in depth and color, especially in the upper register of the clarinet. Originally only available in the BD5 model, the Bb Black Diamond mouthpiece has grown to offer multiple facings and performance options for players. The Vandoren BD7 is for the player who prefers extra large tip openings favored for jazz, combined with the rich tone of the Black Diamond line.

Vandoren’s official description: “Characterized by a larger tip opening and volume of sound, while keeping the round and compact sound of the BD5.”
Dave Kessler’s description: The BD7 is a BIG mouthpiece! At a 1.33 mm tip opening, it is in line with the Vandoren Jazz 5JB models but without the rollover baffle of the jazz models. It is for the player who simply wants a richer sounding mouthpiece that can afford as much air as they want to push through it!

The Vandoren BD7 is available in 2 models, the standard pitch and “13 Series”.
