Yanagisawa is well known for the quality of their saxophones. However, many players are never exposed to their fine mouthpieces. The newest models, the Yanagisawa Classical Alto Sax mouthpieces are designed specifically for control, intonation, quick response and tonal depth for the symphonic saxophonist. Available in 2 sizes, the AC140 and AC150, the new Yanagisawa Classical Alto Sax Mouthpieces are a must try for any symphonic saxophone player.

Compared to the traditional Ebonite models from Yanagisawa, these new classical models feature a revised facing & baffle and a diminished table floor. The improved table floor provides a less resistant transition for your air column to enter the mouthpiece chamber. The end result is a mouthpiece that is articulate and warm but can be pushed to a greater power when needed.

The new Yanagisawa Classical Alto Sax mouthpieces are only available in 2 size options:

AC140 – 1.40 mm Tip (.055″) with 22.00 mm Facing Length
AC150 – 1.50 mm Tip (.059″) with 22.00 mm Facing Length

Trial Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on mouthpieces (excludes special order items). There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).

When we ship the mouthpiece, we install a blue protective film over the logo to help protect the logo from irreparable scratches while it is being tested. We also install a tooth patch before shipping. This way you can test the mouthpiece with less fear of damage. However, you can still damage the mouthpiece even with these protections, so make sure to handle it carefully while you are testing it. We recommend leaving these items on the mouthpiece during the testing phase and only to remove them after you have made the decision to keep the mouthpiece. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.

YANY
Yanagisawa marks these new Yanagisawa AC Series models, as well as the new WO Series saxophones, with a new “YANY” stamp. Many customers ask us what this stands for, so we asked Yanagisawa directly. For decades, customers would shorten the name Yanagisawa and pronounce it “yah-NEE” but spell it “Yani”. However, in Japan, the phrase “Yani” is associated with Tobacco. So Yanagisawa has officially declared “Yany” (with the Y at the end) as the official spelling for the shortened phrase of it’s brand name.
