Kessler Custom Deluxe Series Soprano Sax
Deluxe Series Soprano Sax Features
Our Deluxe Series Soprano Sax features an advanced professional bore with excellent quality brass. Featuring a heavier “Ribbed Body” construction for a richer core tone, the Deluxe Series Sopranos utilizes a removable neck design to offer the player greater ergonomic flexibility than a 1 piece soprano. The curved neck allows the player to hold the soprano down closer to the body while also providing a little mellower tone. Deluxe Series Sopranos feature a black nickel plated body with extensive hand engraving throughout the whole sax. The gold lacquered keys are offset with Abalone finger touches to finish out an amazing look that is only outdone by the saxophone’s performance!
Additional Information
Is this the Right Soprano for You?
Soprano Saxophones are very misunderstood instruments. They are commonly considered more difficult to play than an alto or tenor saxophone.
In reality, the problem with soprano saxophone has more to do with how they are played rather than the soprano sax itself. Plainly put, you cannot play a soprano sax the same way you would an alto sax as they are not the same instrument! Dave Kessler wrote an article about this very issue and details:
- Why is soprano harder to play?
- How to choose a soprano
- How best to approach playing soprano
Take a moment and read the article here: Dave Kessler’s Music Blog – Choosing a Soprano Sax
Every soprano sax that we send out includes a copy of our “Soprano Sax Playing Tips Guide” that will help players achieve the best performance out of their soprano sax. You can also download a PDF copy of that guide by clicking here.
Professional Setup
Every horn we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on the horn is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, a saxophone (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours! So if you were to get 5 of the same model right out of the box, they will all play different which leads people to believe that they are “good” or “bad” saxes… but the reality is that the one that was the best out of the 5 was likely the one that needed the least amount of work and on the flip side, the “bad” sax was the one that needed 2 hours worth of adjustments!
Once the same 5 saxophones are properly regulated and adjusted to perfection, they become near identical saxophones that even the pickiest of players would be challenged to pick a true “favorite” horn. However, since most stores do not or even can not perform this setup, the player never knows this and is simply relying on the luck of the draw. This is why we perform our setup (in our www.SaxophoneRepairs.com ProShop) on them before delivering your new sax to you. You trust us with your purchase and we want to make sure that you are rewarded by giving you your ideal saxophone setup flawlessly!

I have played several other brands, but nothing like this. Kessler’s Soprano Sax is a Professional Horn above all others. The sound and the action are amazing. The craftsmanship by their artisans is impeccable. The intuitive placement of the keys for alternate fingerings make it easier to adjust to and to play more fluently. This Soprano shows the dedication that their shop and production artisan’s have put into learning their craft.

I purchased this soprano saxophone in the beginning of 2021. The horn plays perfect right out of the box. It sounds beautiful. This is the third saxophone I have purchased from Kessler in the last two years. This is the best place to buy a saxophone. The pricing and the quality of the horns are amazing.

I have played the Alto for many years and finally decided to go out and get a soprano. I had heard many people talking about Kessler & Son instruments and how good they are, and I was not disappointed. The beautiful tone of this horn is only matched by its beautiful hand graving and aesthetics. This horn is darker than one would think for a soprano saxophone which allows one to play with more flexibility of tone. You can play hard-hitting bright contemporary music as well as softer darker ballads. The keys and ergonomic placements are perfect making it easy to go from the lower register to the higher register. I recommend this professional horn for anyone looking to purchase a Soprano Saxophone.
Ps: I’ve been using the Theo Wanne Shiva 3, 7 tip opening mouthpiece and Legere signature 2.75 reeds.

I bought the Kessler Custom Deluxe Series Soprano Sax in the summer of 2024. Love it. Keywork is light and easy, like I like it. And the curved neck is nice! The black nickel with gold keys is beautiful. I’ve gotten compliments on the look and my tone. I am using it with the Seller Paris Concept. This is a winning combination for me.

Beautiful instrument with a beautiful sound. The engravings are amazing and the keywork feels very smooth. The cork on the curved neck was a little thick and harder to push the mouthpiece onto compared to the straight neck, but both played well. The included swab, cork grease, and neck strap are all great.
