Johannes Gerhard Hammig Piccolo – 751/3/HKR
Cocus Wood | Straubinger Pads | Split E & G# Mechanisms
Hammig piccolos are handmade in Germany and are considered among the finest in the world! The Hammig family of piccolos is most known in the USA under the Philipp Hammig design, but in reality there are 3 designs in the Hammig piccolo family. The Johanes Gerhard Hammig piccolo is the highest model in the Hammig family. It features a slightly different bore and increased undercutting compared to the Philipp Hammig model resulting in a warmer tone.
751/3 Wave Model
This specific piccolo is a 751/3 model. The “751” indicates that it is a Gerhard Hammig Piccolo model in Cocus wood. The “3” indicates that it features silver plated keywork. It is setup with a “Reform” model headjoint meaning that it is the standard sized with a Wave embouchure. This model is also equipped with a Split E mechanism as well as the Hammig G# mechanism. Finally, it is padded with Straubinger pads.
Professional Setup
Every piccolo we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on the flute is of the utmost importance! We setup every piccolo, regardless of brand or price, to an adjustment standard that is in line of professional piccolos. This Gerhard Hammig piccolo is setup with Straubinger pads and requires a superior technician, trained in Straubinger pads to properly regulate them. We are a certified Straubinger shop and know how to make this piccolo sing!
