Selmer Paris Signature Tenor Sax Neck
Modern Iteration of the Traditional Selmer Sound

The new Selmer Siganture tenor sax has quickly become one of the most sought after saxes on the market! One of the core elements to the performance of the Signature is the neck. However, with the Signature (& Supreme), Selmer changed the outer diameter on the neck tenon to a slightly larger 27.70 mm diameter. ALL of the other Selmer models were a 27.50mm including vintage models. That means that as they are out of the box, the Signature neck does not fit the other Selmer models (other than the Supreme and the Signature models). However, this size difference is not too large that a technician with proper tools and training could still shrink down the tenon on the Signature neck to fit your Selmer.

Excellent Fit on Supreme
In our neck testing, the Signature neck ON the Supreme is an amazing combination. This keeps the quicker response and free blow of the Supreme, but adds a little depth and core to the sound from the Signature.

Can you pre-fit the neck to my horn?
Unfortunately no. Even though we could pre-fit the neck to another model that utilizes the 27.50 mm tenon, there is still no guarantee that it will fit your sax. Neck re-fitting really needs to be done with the saxophone present. This is also a permanent modification to the neck, rendering it un-returnable.

Will it work on a…
Once the neck is re-sized for your sax, the Signature tenor sax neck will work very well with all Selmer models from the Mark VI on through all current history of production. This includes:

  • Super Action 80
  • Super Action 80 Serie II
  • Serie III
  • Reference 54 & 36
  • Axos

Finishes
The Supreme neck will be offered of course in all of the standard finishes that the actual Signature is offered in. This way you can get a Signature tenor sax neck that matches the finish of your horn. Finishes include:

• • Dark Gold Lacquer – Standard finish on the Supreme, matches well with the dark lacquer of the Reference 54 as well
  • Black Lacquer
  • Silver Plated
  • Brushed Lacquer – This should more naturally match “Matte” finish models (common on Serie II & III)
  • Antique – This should more naturally match the Antique brushed finish from the Reference 54
  • 24k Gold Plate
  • Solid Sterling Silver Tube with Brass Keywork  – This is not just a finish, but the entire acoustic tube made from Solid Silver for an even more resonant & responsive performance.
