Mouthpiece is THE MOST important piece of equipment for the saxophone player. Our Kessler Custom line of mouthpieces are designed for specific styles of performance and musicality. Our hard rubber soprano sax mouthpiece combines value with excellent tone and response! We offer our hard rubber soprano sax mouthpiece in 2 facing options. Both of our models sit on the slightly larger side of the tip opening spectrum in order to encourage players to play more relaxed which is the real secret to a warmer soprano sax tone. These mouthpieces are completely hand-faced and offer a rich tone with exceptional response!

Ligature Bundle
Your ligature makes a big difference in performance. So it is important to us that you get the right ligature for your new mouthpiece to fit your desired performance. We offer 3 ligature bundle options with the mouthpiece:

Rovner Light Ligature
The Rovner Light ligature works really well with the mouthpiece to produce a mellow, but responsive tone. Additionally, customers can find that inverting the Rovner ligature (placing the screw on the reed side of the mouthpiece) can actually add a little richer tonal core to the setup as well. So if you test and don’t love the ligature with the screw on top, then simply flip it around and test it out with the screw on the reed side. Trust us, it works!
Rovner VERSA-X
Based on the heavy mass concept of the original VERSA model, the VERSA-X offers a dark, rich tonal core with exceptional response and versatility. The X model integrates the “Mass Loaded Resonating Ribs” into the ligature to simplify its use. The original VERSA model allows for the customer to change out how much weight is present, but those weights can fall out… so the VERSA-X model eliminates that issue.
Vandoren M|O
For the customer who prefers an all metal ligature, the Vandoren M|O is our go-to model. It’s simplicity of use and quick response just make it a great ligature. it is the brightest sound of the 3 options provided, but it is also the quickest response.
No Ligature
You can also opt for no ligature if you prefer at a small discount.

We offer our Kessler Custom Hard Rubber Soprano Sax mouthpieces in the choice of 2 facings. We designed our facing options to help players develop their soprano sound in to a bigger, sweeter tone than many players naturally achieve. The problem for many players on soprano is that they play too tight on their embouchure. This is due to the relatively smaller nature of the mouthpiece and other mistakes that players commonly make.

Available facings:

- - Size 5 – .062″ tip opening with medium long facing
  - Size 7 – .069″ tip opening with a medium facing

Other than just being bigger in the tip opening, the size 7 has more brilliance due to the more traditional medium facing.

Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on our hard rubber soprano sax mouthpiece. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).

In order to protect the mouthpiece against scratches & marks when testing, we install a tooth patch before shipping. You are responsible for the condition of the mouthpiece while you are testing it. We highly recommend testing with a fabric style ligature to reduce the risk of scratching. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
