At the center of the Di Zhao Rosewood Piccolo is the professional hand-cut headjoint. This headjoint gives the perfect blend of tonal depth and warmth and combines it with quick response and articulation. Paired with exceptional quality Rosewood for a broader & sweeter tone, custom ergonomic keywork, the Di Zhao Wood Piccolo will impress any level of performer!

Free Upgrade to Pisoni S-2 Professional Pads
Pads can have a phenomenal impact on the performance, feel & response of a piccolo. Professional piccolos tend to see a major upgrade in pads over intermediate models. Normally, this model of Di Zhao piccolo uses a standard felt based, intermediate pad. However, in order to offer our customers more, we have Di Zhao build all of our Rosewood Piccolo models with an upgrade to the Pisoni S2 professional pads. While this costs us more, we offer it to our customers at no additional charge online!

This pad uses a precisely machined Delrin half-shell base in order to provide a firm feel to your new Di Zhao piccolo. This Delrin base is then covered with a very thin layer of a synthetic high-tech felt that is then covered in a double bladder skin layer. This setup provides a firm feel and for more power and response from the piccolo as the pad does not absorb the acoustics of the piccolo like a traditional felt and instead reflects more sound and power out.

The Pisoni S-2 pads were designed for high-end professional instruments and are a marvelous pairing to the Di Zhao Rosewood Piccolo. However, these pads do require a significantly more skilled and trained technician in order to adjust and regulate. Kessler & Sons Music has fully trained technicians who have been trained how to properly handle and work on professional piccolos and the higher end pads associated with them (such as the Pisoni S-2 & Straubinger pads).
