Kessler Custom Modern Classical Alto Sax Mouthpiece
Free Professional Ligature Included!
Mouthpiece is THE MOST important piece of equipment for the saxophone player. Our Kessler Custom line of mouthpieces are designed for specific styles of performance and musicality. Our Modern Classical Alto Sax Mouthpiece is our premier symphonic mouthpiece design.
First, this mouthpiece kit is a combination of 2 proven vintage & 1 modern classical designs rolled into one mouthpiece.
Vintage Design Facing
We use our professional vintage Selmer Soloist C* style facing with a slight rollover baffle. This facing is extremely responsive with a concert reed. We highly recommend the D’Addario Reserve Classic reeds in a strength 3.0, 3.0+, 3.5 or 4.0 – Traditional “Blue Box” Vandoren reeds also work.
Modern Designed Chamber
The Modern Classical Alto Sax Mouthpiece chamber is based off the modern Selmer S80 mouthpieces being a square chamber. This chamber is utlra responsive at any dynamic level giving the player great control and stability.

Additional Information
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy on our Modern Classical Alto Sax Mouthpiece. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).
When we ship the mouthpiece, we install a blue protective film over the logo to help protect the logo from irreparable scratches while it is being tested. We also install a tooth patch before shipping. This way you can test the mouthpiece with less fear of damage. However, you can still damage the mouthpiece even with these protections, so make sure to handle it carefully while you are testing it. We recommend leaving these items on the mouthpiece during the testing phase and only to remove them after you have made the decision to keep the mouthpiece. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
Please read our terms & conditions (link at the bottom of the page) for full details on this policy.

I read some threads from the Sax on the Web forum where a number of players had said that they had had great success playing jazz with classical mouthpieces. I thought that I would experiment with this.
My usual mouthpieces are:
Jody Jazz HR*
Theo Wanne Gaia Model 1
I found the Kessler Custom Modern Classical Alto Mouthpiece from a search. The model was priced at $115.95. I placed an order and it promptly arrived.
This a very free blowing mouthpiece which has rock solid intonation. I can take more of the mouthpiece and still produce a big sound. The other models I use require that I only take a modest amount of mouthpiece. I was surprised at how good this mouthpiece sounds. It is markedly cheaper than either the Theo Wanne or Jody Jazz mouthpieces, but it easily is in the same league and it works just fine for jazz.
I can easily recommend mouthpiece. It is competitively priced and is of a high quality.
