The Yamaha Custom soprano sax mouthpiece is sculpted out of choice ebonite, a high-quality hard rubber which offers a deep resonance and tonal qualities similar to those of natural wood. Every step of the production, from the initial shaping of the mouthpiece ‘blank’ to the final hand crafting of the facing, is done by Yamaha’s experienced artisans for complete control ensuring consistent high quality.Yamaha has spent years working together with many of the world’s greatest musicians, studying their mouthpieces and discovering ways to improve them. The Yamaha Custom soprano sax mouthpiece incorporates this experience in the design and manufacture of every mouthpiece in the series. The Custom Series mouthpieces are characterized by a warm rich tone with exceptional clarity. Their accurate intonation and comfortable playability have made them popular with many leading artists.

Size Options
The Yamaha Custom soprano sax mouthpiece is available in 5 sizes. While the model numbers look similar to the standard series, the Yamaha Custom soprano sax mouthpiece use slightly smaller tip openings. Combined with the different tone chamber & baffle design, the Yamaha Custom soprano sax mouthpiece will produce an articulate, warm and precise tone. Available sizes are:

• 3CM – 1.20 mm Tip, 19.00 mm Facing
• 4CM – 1.25 mm Tip, 19.00 mm Facing
• 5CM – 1.30 mm Tip, 19.00 mm Facing
• 6CM – 1.35 mm Tip, 19.00 mm Facing
• 7CM – 1.40 mm Tip, 19.00 mm Facing

Don’t Forget About the Ligature!
The ligature also has a huge impact on performance. The way that the ligature holds the reed directly changes the way that the reed vibrates. Many ligatures on the market actually will hinder the performance of a reed as well as even warp reeds. For performance and value, we recommend the D’Addario H-Ligature with the Yamaha Custom Soprano Sax  Mouthpiece. These ligatures usually cost about as much as a student mouthpiece. However, we offer a special “bundle” making it only a $15.00 “upgrade” to add on a D’Addario H-Ligature when purchased with the Yamaha Custom Soprano Sax mouthpiece!

Trial & Return Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on the Yamaha Custom Soprano Sax Mouthpiece. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).

In order to protect the mouthpiece against scratches & marks when testing, we install a tooth patch before shipping. You are responsible for the condition of the mouthpiece while you are testing it. We highly recommend testing with a fabric style ligature to reduce the risk of scratching. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
