Available Tips
The Vandoren Optimum Tenor Sax Mouthpiece is Available in the following tips sizes:

  • TL3 – .069″ Tip Opening
  • TL4 – .077″ Tip Opening
  • TL5 – .081″ Tip Opening

Recommended Sizes
For most school musicians, the TL3 might be easier to play at first, but might be too small to really gain enough tonal presence as they progress. For that reason, for most players, we recommend the TL4 Optimum Tenor Sax Mouthpiece as it is an ideal size and design for symphonic tenor saxophonists as it offers a bit more flexibility with its slightly larger tip opening to gain additional projection while still maintaining good control.

Trial & Return Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on in stock instruments and mouthpieces. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).

When we ship the mouthpiece, we install a tooth patch before shipping. This way you can test the mouthpiece with less fear of damage to that area. However, you can still damage the mouthpiece with your ligature, so make sure to handle it carefully while you are testing it. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
