YOB-411 Model – All Wood – Great Value!

The YOB-411 Yamaha Intermediate Oboe is one of the mostly highly respected intermediate oboes made. These instruments are impeccably well manufactured with the highest quality materials and attention to detail. Finding a used Yamaha oboe will usually top many teacher’s recommendations when students are in search for their first wood oboe. They do this because they know that a used Yamaha oboe like this will provide reliable performance and possess the features needed for students as they move forward in their playing career.

About this Used Yamaha Oboe
This particular oboe is the YOB-411 model, serial number 006664. We do not know the full history of the instrument but it looks to have essentially never been played! The instrument is in near perfect condition with the exception of a little tarnish to the silver plating. Otherwise, this oboe presents as new! The 411 model is the predecessor to the current 441 model but is really “on par” with the overall performance expectations from that line. The YOB-411 provides the same key features that teachers are looking for when recommending a new oboe to their students.

This oboe has never been cracked. We have completely oiled the wood and serviced the oboe in our shop. We also include all of the tools necessary for you to keep this oboe maintained properly. These items include:

Case Humidifier
Almond Oil (for oiling the bore)
Feather to apply oil to bore
Cleaning Swab

We will include a wood care and preservation guide as well, and are more than happy to assist you in learning how to properly care for a wood instrument so that you never have to experience a cracked oboe. Professional Setup
Every instrument we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on a musical instrument is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, an oboe (regardless of who the manufacturer) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours! So if you were to get 5 of the same model right out of the box, they will all play different. This leads players to believe that they are “good” or “bad” oboes. The reality is that the one that was the best out of the 5 was likely the one that needed the least amount of work and the “bad” oboe was the one that needed 2 hours worth of adjustments!

With a Used Yamaha Oboe, they generally hold their adjustments very well due to the use of premium wood, Yamaha’s precision manufacturing tolerances and cork padding. However, they still will go out of adjustment just sitting unused. So this used Yamaha oboe was completely gone through in our Yamaha Select Dealer repair shop to ensure that the oboe is in proper regulation and adjustment, ready to provide you with many years of reliable performance!
