The Selmer Paris Series II alto saxophones are the longest running production model in Selmer’s history. Known for their rich tone, great intonation and reliable performance, the Series II has long been the most versatile model in Selmer’s lineup.

About this Used Selmer Paris Series III Alto Sax #519293
This saxophone was made in 1995 and is in good condition. The original neck does feel like it was slightly bent down at one point, not a lot as the lacquer never creased, but you can slightly feel a previous bend on the side of the tube. It does not impact the performance of this horn – but it also gives a good reason to consider upgrading the neck on it as well (options described below). This sax was used well and came to us in need of an overhaul. So who better to do it than our Official Selmer Paris ProShop?!

Can it be better?
“Better” is a matter of personal preference. So while the Series II is a great playing alto sax (the longest running production in their history), we find that many players will prefer upgrades to the neck specifically. We highly recommend one of the following 2 necks for extra performance enhancement:

• • Series III Neck – This will add exceptional response and projection to the horn. We find this combo of a well setup Series II and a Series III neck to offer as close to the original Mark VI type of tonal core as possible.
  • Supreme Neck – The Supreme neck is free-er blowing and easier to play in tune in the altissimo than any neck. It also adds great response throughout the whole range, but does brighten up the overall tone a little.
