Pearl 165E Piccolo
Wood, Wave Headjoint | Composite Body with OMNI Pads

Based around the Pearl 105E Series Composite Piccolos, the Pearl 165E is the next step up in performance on the line. Featuring the same Grenaditte Composite body with the same pointed key arms, but is then upgraded with an all Grenadilla Wood Headjoint (with Wave cut) as well as the high end OMNI synthetic pads. The combination of these two upgrades provides the Pearl 165E with more projection, quicker response and a richer overall tone.

Grenaditte Material
The Pearl 165E Piccolo has it’s body tube made from a material that Pearl calls “Grenaditte”. This material offers better stability than wood as it is impervious to temperature & climate fluctuations yet still possesses a more complex tone than a pure plastic piccolo would.

Synthetic Pads
The Pearl 165E Piccolo is also paired with the synthetic OMNI pads. These pads, like most higher end pads, provide better response, tonal clarity and better adjustment stability. However, they do require a more competent technician in order to properly work on and adjust them. We were actually one of the beta testing shops for the OMNI pads and know how to work with them.

Headjoint Cut
The Pearl Piccolos are offered in 3 different headjoint styles and varies based on the model of Pearl Composite Piccolo.

PFP-105E | All Grenaditte Composite – Wave Headjoint
PFP-105ES | All Grenaditte Composite – Standard Headjoint (non-wave)
PFP-165E | Grenaditte Composite Body – Grenadilla Wood, Wave Headjoint

The 105E & 105ES models feature traditional felt pads whereas the 165E model is upgraded not only with the wood headjoint, but also with the higher end OMNI synthetic pads.

Professional Setup
Every Pearl 165E Piccolo we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on your piccolo is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, an instrument (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours!

This is why we perform our setup in our ProShop on your new Pearl 165E piccolo before delivering it to you. You trust us with your purchase and we want to make sure that you are rewarded by giving you your new piccolo setup flawlessly!
