Classical Strings model 070 Viola Outfit
Fully Carved Student Viola

Classical Strings is based in California that specializes in exceptional quality instruments. With their student model violins, they put the same focus and care into the art of crafting a violin as they do with their artist series instruments. The model 070 Viola outfit is proof of this care.

Additional Information

Model 070 Viola Description
The model 070 viola features a fully carved body that uses a Spruce Top, Maple Back & Sides as well as Ebony pegs and fingerboard. On a student violin, these use of these woods is crucial not only to the violin’s performance, but also its durability! Many low cost instruments use “ebonized” fingerboards and pegs… which is basically just painting a piece of Mahogany black to make it LOOK like ebony. The problem is that these lower grade woods are too prone to warping and shrinking. As we are based in the desert, we have seen too many students fail at learning to play due to the inadequacy of the violin that uses these lower grade materials.

D’Addario Prelude Strings
We have our Classical Strings model 070 violas equipped with D’Addario Prelude (medium tension) strings. We feel that these strings offer the best performance, value and durability of any student violin string on the market!

Case & Bow
A lightweight oblong case is included by default with the model 070 viola. A good student brazilwood bow with natural horse hair & a fully lined frog is also included. Case and bow upgrades can be purchased as well. If interested, please feel free to give us a call and we can help assemble a violin outfit to meet your needs!

Desert Aged
Being based in the desert of Las Vegas, we have a very unique ability to let instruments “age”. As string instruments age and the wood dries, the instrument will improve over that time. However, as these instruments dry in our desert climate of Las Vegas, this process of aging occurs much faster than most areas of the country.

This aging gives you an instrument that is more vibrant, responsive and more stable as a result of this aging!

We do make sure to monitor our instruments and make any necessary adjustments that are needed as a result of this process prior to shipping to you.

In Home Trial
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy on the Classical Strings model 070 Viola outfit. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition). We know that you need to be able to test the instrument to make sure that it is the right instrument for you. We carefully package the instrument so that it arrives safely to you.

Please note that when we ship the instrument, we wrap the bridge and the tailpiece in tissue paper so that IF the bridge were to fall down in shipping, no damage occurs to the instrument. We do not ship the violin with strings under full tension but there is enough tension to keep everything in place while in transit. If you do decide to return the violin, please make sure to follow the same guidelines so that the instrument is returned in the same condition it was sent out.

Please read our terms & conditions (link at the bottom of the page) for full details on this policy.
