The original rubber Backun MoBa Clarinet Mouthpieces were designed in collaboration with one of the finest clarinet players on the planet, Ricardo Morales. The two discussed the idea of making the world’s best clarinet mouthpieces but in doing so, had to figure out the answer their mutual question: How do we create a mouthpiece that is tailored to every player? This same philosophy has evolved in to the re-emerging world of crystal clarinet mouthpieces, and like the rubber models, created a truly unique product: the Backun MoBa White Crystal clarinet mouthpiece!

Tip Opening
The MoBa White Crystal mouthpiece is officially a 1.15mm tip opening. However, this is the measurement on the outside edge of the tip rail. Crystal mouthpieces are often thought of as playing smaller than their tip openings generally would play on hard rubber. Part of the reason behind this is the way that the mouthpieces are faced place the tip rail at an angle relative to the table of the mouthpiece. So while the outside edge of the tip rail is 1.15mm, the INSIDE edge of the tip rail is closer to 1.02mm/1.03mm. This gives these mouthpieces an exceptional control like a small mouthpiece but with the added benefit of the bigger tone of the larger tip opening.

The Backun MoBa White Crystal mouthpieces are individually play tested and picked by Ricardo to ensure that his signature mouthpiece meets his signature performance! These are not simply mouthpieces with a different name but rather are mouthpieces that Ricardo would himself take on stage!

The Backun MoBa White Crystal mouthpiece is actually made with clear crystal but has the entire bore interior brushed at manufacturing to give the clarinet mouthpiece it’s “white” coloring.

Trial & Return Policy
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy by default on the Backun MoBa White Crystal Clarinet Mouthpiece. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition).

Before we ship any new Backun MoBa White Crystal Clarinet Mouthpiece, we install a blue protective film over the logo to help protect the logo from unrepairable scratches while it is being tested. We also install a tooth patch before shipping. This way you can test the mouthpiece with less fear of damage. However, you can still damage the mouthpiece even with these protections, so make sure to handle it carefully while you are testing it. We recommend leaving these items on the mouthpiece during the testing phase and only to remove them after you have made the decision to keep the mouthpiece. Mouthpieces that are returned with irreparable scratches/marks might not be accepted for return.
