The Classical Strings 950 Violin is the finest performing violin in its price range.
CS Jude 950 Violin Features
The Classical Strings 950 Violin is completely handmade by John Wu’s workshop, under his direct guidance. These instruments are recreations of classical masterpiece violins of the past. Everything about the 950 Violin is of the highest caliber. From the attention to detail at the F holes, which are nice and round allowing for exceptional tonal projection, to the scrolls that are cut to be perfectly rounded and thin.
25+ Year Old Tonewoods
The CS 950 Violin uses the most select Italian tonewoods that are aged for at least 25 years! Wood of this caliber and age is expensive but also yields a more stable instrument and maximizes the vibration potential of the instrument that it is used in.
About this violin – made in 2017
This CS950 is a copy of the Haddock violin made by Guarneri in 1734. This particular 750 has been played on for several years by an advanced student and was originally purchased in our shop. The violin did have a small crack in the face, underneath the tailpiece, before it was ever sold new. We had master John Woo himself personally repair the crack. This instrument is a phenomenal player and is the best violin in our store currently until you spend $10,000!

In Home Trial
Kessler & Sons Music offers a 3 day trial / return policy on the Classical Strings 950 Violin. There are no cleaning fees or restocking fees (assuming that the item is returned in proper condition). We know that you need to be able to test the instrument to make sure that it is the right instrument for you. We carefully package the instrument so that it arrives safely to you.
Please note that when we ship the instrument, we wrap the bridge and the tailpiece in tissue paper so that IF the bridge were to fall down in shipping, no damage occurs to the instrument. We do not ship the violin with strings under full tension but there is enough tension to keep everything in place while in transit. If you do decide to return the violin, please make sure to follow the same guidelines so that the instrument is returned in the same condition it was sent out.
Please read our terms & conditions (link at the bottom of the page) for full details on this policy.
Why Buy from Kessler & Sons?
Every instrument we sell has been chosen for the performance value that it offers. We firmly believe that it is our responsibility to help the customer pick the right instrument for them. We evaluate every instrument up against the competition on the market and only choose to sell the instruments that offer you the best value.
Desert Aged!
Every one of our performance level violins is bought and allowed to “age” in our desert climate. We do this to help woods dry out a little longer so as to improve their performance and stability even longer. This particular Classical Strings 950 CS Jude Scarampella violin was made in 2016 and put in to our inventory in late 2018. They have been aged further in our shop since then as they were not put up for immediate sale. This instrument was never sold, not because it wasn’t as good, but because we have allowed it to age. The fact is, this Scarampella, and it’s sister violin (another CS Jude 950 Galgiano) are the 2 finest instruments available in our shop right now!
