The Selmer Paris Series 9* Clarinet is one of the most amazing performance vintage clarinets on the market. The Series 9* had a more “modern” bore design than the standard Series 9 models. These Series 9* clarinets are known for being exceptionally responsive and possessing a wonderfully rich tone. However, many of these instruments tend not to be kept in the best of maintenance… but not in this case… This clarinet was kept in immaculate condition by the previous owner. While the instrument needed to be overhauled, it was physically in the best condition we have ever seen one of these come in!

About this 1961 Selmer Paris Series 9* Clarinet – Serial S6218
This instrument was purchase brand new in May of 1962 in California. It was used by a mechanical engineer for about 20 years and he kept immaculate care of it. The case has no real wear and the original mouthpiece looks almost like new. However, it had since been sitting in a closet since the early 1980’s unused.

However, as it has been sitting unused for quite a long time, it needed to be overhauled and who better to rebuild this fine instrument than an Official Selmer Paris ProShop?! This clarinet was never cracked and includes all of the original gear in excellent physical condition.

Our ProShop Overhaul has been completed on this clarinet (more details below) and it plays GREAT! Included is the original Chesterfield case (in amazing condition) as well as the original Selmer HS** mouthpiece (also in amazing condition). We also include a 1 year warranty on the pads & adjustments as a result of our overhaul.

Wood Care
Note that we also include a case humidifier (not shown in photos), a bottle of almond oil and a feather for application of the oil. We want you to keep this clarinet in excellent condition so we include all of the proper tools and supplies for you to do so.
