D’Addario VENN Reeds
2nd Generation Models

Developed by the industry’s most revered engineers, VENN signals a whole new era in woodwinds innovation: combining the stability and longevity of a synthetic reed with the sound and feel of natural cane. To mimic the organic structure of cane, D’Addario reverse-engineered cane itself, layering different strengths of polymer fibers with resin and organic reed elements to make up the reed blank. The result? The D’Addario VENN Reeds that outlast and outperform anything else like it – all while sounding and playing like your favorite cane reed.

Gen 2 VENN
The new Generation 2 models take all of the positive elements of the original VENN reeds and improved upon them. The new models have improved flexibility which finally gives a synthetic with Full Dynamic Range (a common complaint with other synthetics & the Gen 1 models). The material & manufacturing process has been improved to eliminate the issues of fiber fraying after use nor the need for a sealing layer of tape. Finally, the strengths of the VENN Gen 2 reeds offer strengths that more accurately line up to a cane reed strength. So less guess work on finding the right strength.

Resin
D’Addario uses a combination of a resin and natural cane particles to make the VENN reeds resistant to adverse elements that quickly break down natural cane reeds.

Cane Particles
One of the complaints about synthetic reeds is that they do not feel or sound quite as good as a great cane reed. So with VENN, D’Addario uses natural cane particles to allow VENN to more natural mimic cane, giving VENN a warmer & more natural sound.

Polymer Fibers
The D’Addario VENN Reeds use a unique polymer fiber designed to give the reed a more natural flexibility like a cane reed. This helps improve the response and articulation of the reed to be more true to the feel of a cane reed.
