Gonzalez FOF Clarinet Reeds
(For Our Friends)
Gonzalez FOF clarinet reeds were designed for the clarinetist looking for a darker, richer tone. Using an “American”, unfiled cut, Gonzalez FOF clarinet reeds are made from a 3.6mm blank of cane that is then cut down to a thick blank 3.18 mm thickness. This makes it so that the reed is cut from a denser part of the cane yielding a more vibrant overall performance.
Gonzales FOF clarinet reeds are made in Argentina from cane that is aged for at least 4 years (RC cut is aged 3 years) before the reed is manufactured. The Gonzalez FOF cut reeds are available in more strength options than the RC cut models giving players greater flexibility in finding the ideal strength for them.
