Kessler Custom Handmade Eb Sopranino Sax
Red Brass Body | High F# | Amazing Performance
Discontinued
We have discontinued our Eb Sopranino Sax. While they were a great item, due to production changes at our factory partner, we cannot justify continuing this instrument.
Eb Sopranino saxophones are an interesting little instrument. They have a very small need, but when players do come across that need, the options are slim. When you are in need of a great playing Sopranino and are on a budget, the options become even smaller and, in most cases, unacceptable. So like we do with our Kessler Custom line, we saw a need and so we came up with a solution!
Handmade Sopranino
Based around the Selmer Super 80 Series II design including key work all the way to high F# and modern left hand pinky cluster design.
Kessler Custom Handmade One Pro Soprano Sax
Sopranino saxophones are inherently brighter in tone due to their higher pitch. Our Kessler Custom Handmade Sopranino Sax was designed and configured specifically to combat this issue. We chose to utilize heavier alloys throughout the saxophone’s design to increase the overall mass of the horn and help produce a richer tone.
Red Brass Body
The body tube of our Sopranino uses a higher copper content “Red Brass” instead of the standard yellow brass. This alloy uses 85% copper (compared to standard 70% copper of brass) which yields a slightly heavier alloy that produces a richer tone.
Nickel-Silver Key Arms
All of the flat key arms on our Sopranino are made from Nickel-Silver instead of brass. Like the Red Brass body, Nickel-Silver is heavier than brass which will help increase the overall weight of the horn and further promote a richer tonality. However, we chose Nickel-Silver for the key arms as Nickel-Silver is also significantly stiffer and harder to bend. Considering the rather small & tight key mechanism employed on Sopranino saxes, this helps to provide greater rigidity to the keywork for better long term durability!
Bore & Range
Our Kessler Custom Sopranino is based off of the Selmer Series II bore and key layout. This design provides the more focused tone of any sopranino on the market, but it also helps to yield the best intonation and playability.
This design is also the most modern design ever made on a sopranino with excellent ergonomics (albeit small, it is a sopranino after all). The instrument has a keyed range from Low Bb to High F#.
Professional Setup
Every sopranino we send out to a customer is not released from us unless it has been completely setup in our shop first. This is because the setup on the horn is of the utmost importance! Sometimes, a saxophone (regardless of who the manufacturer or the price point is) comes in needing 20 minutes of adjustments and then the very next one can require 2 hours! So if you were to get 5 of the same model right out of the box, they will all play different which leads people to believe that they are “good” or “bad” saxes… but the reality is that the one that was the best out of the 5 was likely the one that needed the least amount of work and on the flip side, the “bad” sax was the one that needed 2 hours worth of adjustments!
Once the same 5 saxophones are properly regulated and adjusted to perfection, they become near identical saxophones that even the pickiest of players would be challenged to pick a true “favorite” horn. However, since most stores do not or even can not perform this setup, the player never knows this and is simply relying on the luck of the draw. This is why we perform our setup (in our www.SaxophoneRepairs.com ProShop) on them before delivering your new sax to you. You trust us with your purchase and we want to make sure that you are rewarded by giving you your ideal saxophone setup flawlessly!
