Teacher Bio
A native of California’s Central Valley, Ashlea Sheridan received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from California State University, Fresno where she studied with Larry Gardner. During her time at Fresno State, she held the scholarship bassoon position with the President’s Woodwind Quintet. In 2012, Ashlea moved to Las Vegas to study at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with Dr. Janis McKay where she is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts after earning her Master of Music.

Experience
In 2016, Ashlea won the second bassoon position with the full-time Orquesta Sinfónica de la UANL (Monterrey, Mexico) where she stayed until 2018. She has performed bassoon and contrabassoon with the Fresno Philharmonic, Fresno Grand Opera, Clovis Chamber Orchestra, Sequoia Symphony Orchestra, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Nevada Pops Orchestra, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Nevada Chamber Orchestra, Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society, Reno Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco (Guadalajara, Mexico), and Orquesta Filarmónica del Desierto Coahuila de Zaragoza (Saltillo, Mexico).

Ashlea has had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Natalie Cole, Evanescence, Jackie Evancho, Juan Diego Florez, Renee Fleming, and Peter Nero.
