The Yamaha YCL34 is one of the most respected and trusted intermediate clarinets made. Known for great build quality, excellent intonation and performance, the Yamaha YCL34 represents a logical step up for the advancing player. Discontinued in 2001 (replaced by the YCL450), the Yamaha YCL34 offered reliable performance to the advancing clarinetist for over 2 decades.

Every now and then, we will get one of these clarinets in for sale and when we do, they will be listed on this page.

Currently Available Yamaha YCL34 Clarinet: Serial Number 020541A.
This clarinet (the clarinet available is the one in the photos above) has been completely overhauled in our ClarinetRepairs.com ProShop. We performed our “Intermediate Overhaul” on this clarinet with a pad upgrade in the upper joint. The lower joint is configured with a high quality, traditional double skin pad. The upper joint was upgraded with the Valentino Master Series pads which offer performance in line with professional cork pads but without the noise of a cork pad. This combination helps the Yamaha YCL34 achieve cleaner response and articulation in the upper register of the clarinet and better tonal depth in the lower register. This Intermediate Overhaul would normally cost $355.00 and has already been performed on this clarinet.

Barrel Upgrade & New Case
To further improve the performance value of this Yamaha YCL34, we are pairing the clarinet with a Backun Ringless barrel. The one shown in the photo is a Cocobolo wood in a 66mm length, but we would allow the final buyer to choose whether they want the Cocobolo or Grenadilla wood, in either a 65mm or 66mm length. No Mouthpiece is included, but a professional mouthpiece can be added for a discounted bundle price.
