Selmer Paris “NYC Limited Edition” Saxophones
2026 – USA Exclusive Limited Edition

The new Selmer Paris NYC Limited Edition saxophones were made to honor the shared tradition and history between the two original Selmer companies, Selmer Paris and Selmer USA. Both companies were critical in the lineage of professional Selmer saxophones that it is only fitting to celebrate this legacy with a horn that belongs solely to the American market – a truly USA Exclusive instrument.

Selmer USA History
Henri Selmer’s brother, Alexandre Selmer, moved to New York from France in 1909 and opened a shop on 86th Street selling Selmer Paris instruments, marking the beginnings of what would become Selmer USA. In 1920, the H&A Selmer store relocated to 117–119 West 46th Street. Seven years later, the operation moved to Elkhart, Indiana, where a factory was established at 1119 N. Main Street, where Selmer Paris instruments were engraved, finished, and assembled for over 50 years.

In 1929, Henri Selmer acquired the workshop and assets of the Adolphe Sax company, making Selmer the successor to the inventor of the saxophone. From the 1930s onward, Selmer saxophones were increasingly adopted by leading musicians around
the world.

2026 NYC Limited Edition Saxophones
Produced exclusively for the US Market, the NYC Limited models are based around the Signature Series alto and tenor sax. The Signature model possesses the more traditional tonal core in the new modern models of Selmer saxophones.

Limited Series Production
119 Total Altos | 86 Total Tenors

The NYC Limited Edition saxophones offer a truly unique setup that performs a bit different than the traditional Signature Series saxes. Why NYC Limited instead of Elkhart Limited you might ask? That is because Selmer USA originated in New York City in 1904 when Alexandre Selmer opened up the NY shop for Selmer USA to distribute their family’s instruments in the US. Eventually, he returned to France in 1910 leaving Selmer USA to continue to evolve and grow on its own and eventually move to Elkhart, Indiana.

So the origins of Selmer USA are in New York City – but the history was done in Elkhart – and this horn pays respect to the full lineage of Selmer USA. These NYC Limited Edition models include the following unique, limited edition features:

    • Elkhart Shade (darker / more vintage color) Nitrocellulose Lacquer
    • Elaborate full horn engraving honoring the various stages of Selmer USA influence on Selmer Paris vintage saxophones
    • French-made pads
    • Vintage ToneX-style resonators – brushed nickel, screw-back
    • Ring-Style Bell to Body Brace (not flat brass, but rounded)
    • Soloist D Mouthpiece
    • Limited Edition Case and Accessories

Note, the horns do not have their unique “series” number on them. Instead, each NYC Limited alto includes a certificate of authenticity showing which number in the series it is.
